Through curricular programs, guest speakers, and travel opportunities, Marymount students become engaged participants in an interconnected global community. Marymount is part of an international network of RSHM schools – 21 schools in 9 countries that share common goals, values, and vision – which offers opportunities for language immersions, semesters abroad, study programs, concert tours, and sports festivals.

Travel & Exchange

Through mission-driven programs, students gain broader knowledge about world cultures, learn cross-cultural communication skills, and draw connections between themselves and people across the globe. Beginning in Class VIII, students choose from the following options:

Class VIII Study Tour

In the fall of eighth grade, students travel to an RSHM school in Europe to collaborate with their global peers on a project, then reunite as a group in Béziers, France, to trace the roots of our RSHM founders.

RSHM Sports Festival

Students in Class VIII are invited to participate in a sports festival where they engage in friendly competition against other RSHM network schools. Students have recently competed in Rome, Paris, London, and Portugal.

Three-week Immersions

Upper School students live with a host family and attend school in their target language during these three-week language or cultural immersion programs in Brest, France; Madrid & Barcelona, Spain; Medellín & Barranquilla, Colombia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Rome, Italy.

Semesters Abroad

Class X students may spend a quarter or semester of their sophomore year at Marymount London’s international boarding school in Kingston, England.

Global Journeys

Annual global journeys explore diverse cultures and global issues of concern.

Oxford Seminar

Upper School students spend part of spring break learning from top Oxford University professors in a cohort of their choosing: literature and the arts, law and human rights, or science and the future.

Concert Tour

Members of the Marymount Singers have the opportunity to participate in an annual concert tour during spring break. This year, the Singers will travel to Italy to perform in both sacred and secular spaces.

Service Trip

Upper Schoolers collaborate with students from Marymount Los Angeles and Marymount Cuernavaca to offer direct service to communities in need in Mexico.

Curriculum

A Marymount education prepares students with the knowledge and skills required to be critical and responsible participants in our interconnected global community. Courses and co-curricular offerings across divisions are intentional in their content, scope, and sequence in order to prepare students with depth and breadth of knowledge about the world, its peoples, cultures, religions, and geographic contexts. The academic program focuses on developing the essential skills of perspective taking and respectful communication, while also cultivating in students a strong sense of empathy, preparing them to promote the common good locally, nationally, and internationally.

RSHM Global

RSHM Global is an innovative education program serving students and teachers within the Global Network of RSHM Schools. The program offers a diverse array of courses and learning opportunities to high school students throughout the network, fostering global collaboration and enriching the academic experience. RSHM Global aims to cultivate a vibrant, interconnected learning community committed to the values and mission of the RSHM. Open to students in Classes IX-XII, these online courses range from four to ten weeks in length and focus on the following topics: Creativity & AI, Global Entrepreneurship, Desigining Your Life, Climate Change: Data Analysis, and Climate Change: Taking Action.
