Below are answers to frequently asked questions about Marymount and our admission process. If you have additional questions, please contact us at any time at admissions@marymountnyc.org.

Admissions

  • Do you accept applications for every grade level?

Marymount accepts applications for Nursery - Class XI. The main entry points are Pre-K, Kindergarten, Class VI, and Class IX. Availability in other grade levels is limited and based on attrition.

  • What are the birthday cut-offs for applicants?

By August 31 of the entry year, students must have turned 3 years old for Nursery (born by 8/31/22), 4 years old for Pre-K (born by 8/31/21), and 5 years old for Kindergarten (born by 8/31/20). We do not have strict birthday cut-offs in other grades. We assess each child individually to determine best fit.

  • What is the sibling/legacy early decision policy?

Siblings of current Marymount students and children of Marymount New York alumnae applying to Nursery, Pre-K, or Kindergarten qualify for Early Notification. Siblings and legacies are given special consideration in the admissions process, but acceptance is not guaranteed.

  • Do you accept boys in Nursery and Pre-K?

Yes. Boys in our Nursery and Pre-K classes are typically siblings or legacies, although exceptions may be made in special situations.
