A pioneer in digital learning, Marymount is recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for being a center of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. Using cutting-edge tools and teaching methods, faculty design dynamic curricula to fuel active engagement, creative connection, and joyful exploration.
Apple Distinguished School
An Apple Distinguished School since 2015, Marymount employs a 1:1 iPad (N-V) and MacBook Air (VI-XII) program that is further enhanced by collaborative work areas and digital fabrication spaces. Using innovative tools and teaching methods, faculty across departments and divisions design their curricula to engage students through problem solving, teamwork, imaginative expression, and real-world connection. Whether programming an Ozobot or using a scroll saw to fabricate a pinewood derby car or designing an interactive work of art with littleBits, students approach novel situations with agility, determination, and a growth mindset.
Responsible Digital Citizenry
Equipped with either an iPad or a MacBook Air, students become responsible digital citizens and discerning content consumers and creators. From Lower School on, our students learn that technology is a powerful tool for finding and sharing information, building community and connections, and bringing their ideas to life. We also teach them how to use the internet safely and wisely, helping them discern which sources are credible and trustworthy and what behaviors will create a positive digital footprint.
Phone-free environment
Beginning Fall 2024, Marymount will become a phone-free space to improve teaching and learning, build community, develop authentic relationships, and practice healthy habits. While we believe that technology has great utility, we also believe that academic focus and social connection will improve when students are fully engaged with their teachers and classmates. Students in Nursery-Class V will not bring devices to school at all, and students in Classes VI-XII will store their phones and smart watches during the duration of the school day.
