The Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising campaign that directly supports Marymount’s current operating expenses, including academic and extracurricular programs, faculty compensation and professional development, financial aid, and facility maintenance. The Annual Fund runs from July 1 to June 30. Unlike tuition, all gifts to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible. In 2022-2023, 89% of all parents and 18% of Marymount alumnae raised $2.9 million for the Annual Fund.
FAQs
What is the Annual Fund and why is it necessary?
As in most independent schools, tuition and fees do not cover the full cost of a student’s education. The Annual Fund provides much-needed funds that directly impact each student by enhancing academic and extracurricular programming, retaining outstanding faculty, and ensuring that a Marymount education is accessible to an economically diverse population.
How much should I give?
A gift that is meaningful to your family is meaningful to Marymount. While the amount varies for each family, a gift at any level makes a difference. Last year, gifts to the Annual Fund ranged from $10 to $100,000. The average parent gift was $2,750, and the average alum gift was $1,000. Above all, we strive for 100% participation.

Does it matter when I make my gift?
Though the Annual Fund runs from July 1 - June 30 every year, we encourage donors to make a gift or pledge before December 31. Making a gift or pledge early significantly helps the School in budget planning.
How is the Annual Fund different from the Campaign and the Benefit?
The purpose of the Campaign for Marymount is to raise funds for the construction of our new building. The Benefit raises additional funds for the School. Participation in either does not count as participation in the Annual Fund.
