To honor her extraordinary vision, leadership, and tireless dedication to Marymount, the Board of Trustees launched the Concepcion Alvar Institute for Teaching Excellence at the 2025 Benefit Gala. This fund celebrates Mrs. Alvar’s unwavering commitment to innovative teaching and learning and will ensure that her legacy enriches Marymount for years to come. The Concepcion Alvar Institute for Teaching Excellence will help teachers develop the kinds of programs that set Marymount apart: globally minded, experiential, and immersive. The fund will enable faculty to fortify their growth and development through classes, workshops, and research-based projects, and to honor them with awards and grants that celebrate their excellent teaching.
To make a commitment to the Concepcion Alvar Institute for Teaching Excellence and pay at a later date, please contact Megan Mulcahy ‘07, Director of Development, for a pledge form.
