Description
Marymount School seeks a dynamic, knowledgeable history teacher to join our Upper Middle School division. Ideal candidates will be able to teach a combination of history courses (Ancient, Middle Ages, American, and Contemporary World) that best suits the program’s needs and the candidate’s expertise. Outstanding candidates have a passion for history and the ability to inspire the same in their students. Ideal candidates are actively interested in innovative and creative teaching and learning with middle grade students. Experience with collaborative, project-based learning is a plus, as is a willingness to embrace new technology. Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate flexibility and positivity in their collaboration with others. Marymount faculty also support students as advisors and club moderators, and take an active role in the school community.
Requirements
- Master's degree in history and/or history education
- Experience teaching grades 6-12
- Commitment to equity and belonging in teaching practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary range: $85,000-105,000 annually
