Description

Marymount School seeks an experienced science teacher to join the dynamic team of educators in our Upper Middle School division. Ideal candidates are collaborative, flexible, and passionate self-starters who are actively interested in innovative and creative learning and teaching. Outstanding candidates have a passion for science and the ability to inspire the same in their students. Courses may include physical science (8th grade), life science (7th grade), and Earth science (6th grade). With an emphasis on scientific inquiry and data literacy, students hone their foundational skills through hands-on labs and projects. Candidates should have strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Marymount facilities include a 1:1 macBook environment and state-of-the art science labs. Marymount faculty are active participants in the school community, supporting students as advisors or club moderators, and taking an active role in school programs. 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics, science education, or a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching biology at the middle or high school level
  • Excellent laboratory skills
  • Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills
  • Commitment to equity and belonging in teaching practices
  • Ability to differentiate and vary instructional methods

Salary range: $85,000-105,000 annually
