- English Teacher, Upper SchoolSalary: 85,000-100,000 annually
Description
Marymount School seeks an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative educator to teach English in our Upper School. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching a range of courses, from 9th grade Humanities to 12th grade electives, and will demonstrate a passion for engaging students of all levels as they develop skills in close reading, clear expression, and critical thinking. We also seeks faculty who are interested in joining a community of teachers who collaborate on the development of an evolving and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of students in our world today. Proficiency with technology, a commitment to equity in teaching practices, and a flexible mindset are essential. All Upper School faculty serve as advisors to a small group of students and moderate at least one student club or activity.
Requirements
Master’s or Ph.D. in English or related field (such as Comparative Literature or Teaching of English)
- Experience teaching English (Upper School English preferred)
- Commitment to equity and belonging in teaching practices
- Ability to differentiate and vary instructional methods
Salary range: $85,000-100,000 annually
