An Education of the Heart and Mind
Marymount stands for values, leadership, and social justice as much as academic rigor and intellectual achievement. From a dynamic, integrated curriculum to 18 advanced placement courses to its unique financial literacy and philanthropy initiatives, Marymount prepares young women for highly selective colleges and universities while fueling them with the passion to “challenge, shape, and change the world.”
Location, Location, Location
We enjoy easy access from all points of Manhattan and the boroughs. Our front yard is Fifth Avenue, Central Park and “Museum Mile.” The Metropolitan Museum of Art is our adjunct classroom and textbook.
The S.T.E.M. Initiative: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math for Girls
Challenging research and experimentation…Sophisticated problem solving and web work… Robotics, weekend weather podcasts, “Light Up your Mind” Conventions. As an educational pacesetter, Marymount is advancing studies in areas where women are under represented.
One Family, Two Homes
Our elegant Beaux Art mansions lend a welcoming atmosphere to our robust curriculum. In our Fifth Avenue buildings, Upper and Lower School students learn from each other as they develop Big Sister/Little Sister relationships. Our Middle School girls find “their own voices” at our second home, off Fifth Avenue on 82nd Street. With a 6:1 student-teacher ratio and happy, involved families, community is our middle name.
A Vibrant Network of 21 International Schools
A global education is possible through our international exchange programs, study tours, sports tournaments, concerts, immersions, and interschool curricular projects. Our 360 degrees of connection extend learning as far as Paris, London, Rome, Lisbon, Los Angeles, and more.
An Independent School in the Catholic Tradition
While committed to its Catholic heritage, Marymount School respects the religious diversity of the community and seeks to give all students a deeper understanding of the role of the spiritual in life, an appreciation of individual religious traditions and a commitment to service.
Unity Through Diversity
We strive for balance, for acceptance. We are 66% Catholic, 55% upper east side, 26% students of color, 22% on financial aid. 21% of our students have at least one parent with an international background.
