The library at Marymount seeks to provide students and teachers with the information and resources they need to be academically successful. To this end, the library complements its 14,000-volume book collection with extensive digital resources.

  • New York Society Library
    Marymount has a school membership in the New York Society Library, located at 53  East 79th Street. This membership allows Marymount faculty, staff, and Upper School students to borrow books and attend lectures. The library collection contains approximately 270,000 volumes with particular strengths in English and American literature, history, social sciences, and the arts. The catalog and lecture offerings are on the library’s website (click above). To borrow a particular book, email the author, title, and call number to Elizabeth Clarke, Marymount Head Librarian, who will call the library, reserve the title, and provide a form to bring to their circulation desk for pick up.
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Nolen Library contains approximately 8,000 volumes on art history, the museum’s permanent collection, and its current exhibits. Located in the Uris Center for Education, the Nolen Library is open to the public for research during the following hours: Tuesday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The library’s holdings are found on WATSONLINE . To search the catalog, enter author, title, subject, or keyword, and then select Nolen Library from the menu.
