Knitting Brigade

knit1Open to students in Classes VIII-XII.
Enrollment is by semester.

The Knitting Brigade is an informal group that meets weekly to knit or crochet. All skill levels are invited; beginners will be taught these hand-working skills. The group focuses on knitting for charity, providing hats and scarves for the homeless as well as products for children in need. For recent group projects, the brigade made blankets for children in Iraqi orphanages and participated in the “Knit One, Save One” program sponsored by Save the Children. In spring 2010, the group created teddy bears for children of the Les Filles de Marie in Haiti whose school was destroyed in the earthquake. The brigade has sold some of their work at the Christmas Fair in order to raise funds to buy wool for charitable projects.KnitBears
