Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry includes: the Retreat Team, Service Programs, and the Liturgy Committee as
described below.

Open to students in Classes VIII-XII. Enrollment is for the year.

Retreat Team

Open to students in Classes X through XII, by application, the Retreat Team serves in a peer leadership position, developing and leading all Class retreats and days of reflection. Retreat Team leaders assume such critical and significant roles as small group facilitator, homilist, confidant, role model, and authority figure. Retreat Team leaders must be members of Campus Ministry and attend a Retreat Team training weekend in September led by the Spiritual Life Coordinator and members of the Religious Studies Department.

Service Programs

All Upper School students are encouraged to be involved in Campus Ministry’s service programs which work to create an awareness of and response to social needs in our community and in the world, including homelessness, hunger, poverty, and human rights, as exemplified by our commitment to the ministries of the RSHM in Zimbabwe. Members sponsor assemblies, conduct food and gift drives, and plan fund-raising activities. Discussions and planning meetings are held weekly.

Liturgy Committee

This section of Campus Ministry, which oversees all of Marymount’s liturgies, is open to all members of the club. Students offer their time and talents to create meaningful, school-wide liturgies. Students may serve as lectors, ministers of hospitality, participants in the procession, and Eucharistic ministers.
