CAMBIAS

CAMBIAS is Cultural Awareness Moves Beyond Ignorance And Stereotypes
Open to students in Classes IX-XII. Enrollment is for the year.
CAMBIAS, the cultural awareness club, holds weekly meetings which center on discussions about social identifiers such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and class. The club celebrates diversity by highlighting a different issue each month. Club members have opportunities to attend diversity conferences throughout the year and to network with students from other schools. Members present assemblies and educate the school community about the issues involved in multiculturalism and diversity. Members attend biannual affinity group meetings. All members participate in the club’s major events, “Harambee: A Celebration of Black History Month” and, in alternate years, “Bias Awareness Day.”
