Parents' Association Executive Board, 2011-12
Fall 2011
I would like to welcome all of you back to Marymount for the Fall semester. I hope everyone had a happy and healthy summer with family and friends. The Marymount staff and administration have been busy getting the 97th Street Campus ready for the school year. If you have a moment, please read Mrs. Alvar’s letter regarding the amazing progress Marymount has made getting the facility ready for the Fall semester.
This is going to be a memorable year and I look forward to all of us being back together to get the school year off to a successful start. The Parents’ Association has a number of exciting events planned and we look forward to your participation. It’s a great way to get to know other parents and the full Marymount community. You can find the volunteer form here.
We have many events planned so please stay tuned to the website for updates. For the Fall semester we have the Used Uniform Sale on November 3, the Christmas Fair Preview Reception on November 30, and the Christmas Fair on December 1. Starting on September 23 and every succeeding Friday until the fair, we will begin Christmas Fair crafting. For those new to the school, these are crafts made by Marymount parents that will be sold at the fair.
In addition, please save the date for the Skating Party on January 31, the Annual Benefit on February 10, and the Middle School Father/Daughter Dance on March 2.
Other dates to keep in mind for the Fall are the 97th Street “Open Doors, Open Minds” event on October 27 and our first Parents’ Association meeting on October 28 @ 8:30 a.m.
Your class reps will begin sending weekly updates once the school year begins. Look for updates on class receptions and new events that may be added throughout the year.
Lastly, please make sure to view the Safety Patrol calendar for your class. An additional walking path has been added in honor of our new campus on 97th Street. Your reps will provide more detail regarding the new Safety Patrol path.
I am looking forward to welcoming all of you to the new school year!
Sincerely,
Joan L. O’Neil
President, Parents’ Association
