
Dear Marymount Parents,
I am very pleased to let everyone know that beginning with our September 2010 lunch menu, there will be two exciting changes:
- First, all of our fresh meats and poultry will be “all natural.” This means that they will be free of growth hormones, antibiotics, medications, and preservatives.
- Second, our priority will be to serve organic and locally farmed fruits and vegetables. Items on the “dirty dozen” produce list, those that carry the most pesticide residue, will be served exclusively organic.
Similarly, last spring Marymount moved to serving milk uniquely from Ronnybrook Farm Dairy in Ancramdale, NY, which guarantees organic and locally produced dairy products.
Throughout the year I will be offering information on foods featured on the menu–please check the What’s Cooking link for these updates. We look forward to providing the students with healthy food choices throughout the year.
