Dear Marymount Parents,
As you may know, Class XII students are expected to complete a Senior Internship as one of their graduation requirements. This extraordinary opportunity provides each student with tangible work experience that may help to influence her future academic and career decisions.
Please take a moment to consider sponsoring a Marymount School intern. In the Class of 2010 there are forty-nine talented students with excellent computer technology skills and with various interests in business, law, education, finance, medicine, art, architecture, fashion, publishing, media, marketing, social service, science, technology, and not-for-profit organizations.
The Internship Program begins on Monday, May 3 and ends on Monday, May 24. Each senior is required to work thirty to thirty-five hours a week without financial remuneration. Students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses participate part-time until they have completed their Advanced Placement exams. At the conclusion of the Internship Program, all students give oral presentations on their experiences to Classes X and XI.
The Internship Program has always been a rewarding experience for both the student and the organization that has sponsored her. Each student in the Internship Program is covered by Marymount’s health and liability insurance while attending her Internship. The Internship is a graduation requirement and is thus considered to be a part of the Marymount academic program.
If you are interested in sponsoring an intern, please fill out and return the 2010 Senior Internship Program form. Thank you for considering our request. If you have any questions, please call at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Pauline Brookfield
