Marymount School of New York offers an academically rigorous program in an environment that affirms moral and religious values. Guided by dedicated and experienced teachers, our students approach learning as a dynamic, interactive process connecting all disciplines.
Emphasizing classic disciplines and scientific inquiry, the Upper School (Classes VIII-XII) curriculum provides students with skills necessary for success in competitive colleges and for life beyond. As an institution clearly focused on the education of young women, Marymount seeks to equip each student with self-esteem, confidence in all subject areas, a risk-taking spirit, leadership ability, and a love for learning.
Requirements are structured to give students a broad and solid base of knowledge while sharpening skills in problem solving, research, and critical thinking.
Our Middle School (Classes IV-VII) program offers girls multiple opportunities for independence, leadership, and achievement. The pre-adolescent years, characterized by change and growth, are an important time in girls’ lives for developing self esteem.
High-quality work is expected and celebrated in all areas whether a student is conducting a science experiment, performing in a play or completing a research project. The integrated core curriculum gradually increases in the degree of departmentalization at each grade level.
Our Lower School (Classes N-III) builds a solid foundation of cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills within a carefully structured, child-centered, and challenging environment.
Children are invited to discover and explore the world through observation, role-playing, and hands-on activities.
Teachers emphasize critical thinking skills and diverse approaches to problem solving. All children are challenged in small skill-level groupings.
