Sacrament of First Eucharist

Every spring, Catholic students in Class II 1stEuchcelebrate of the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time. Students prepare for the sacrament in religious studies class. Families are welcome to join the students at Mass on this special day marking a sacramental milestone in the spiritual life of the student. Every student, regardless of her faith tradition, has a special role in the celebration.

Sacrament of First Reconciliation

Every spring, Catholic students in Class IV celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Students prepare for the sacrament in religious studies class by examining scriptural passages on the topics of God’s forgiveness, mercy, and love. The sacrament is celebrated individually by a trusted priest with a long-time relationship to Marymount School. The families of Class IV students meet the students for Mass in the chapel to continue the celebration. Every student, regardless of her faith tradition, has a special role in the celebration.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Catholic students in Classes VI and VII are confirmation2joined by their families, sponsors, and Middle School classmates in the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation in odd-numbered years. Students prepare for the sacrament in religious studies class, at a day of reflection, and through the completion of a self-designed service project. The Confirmation Mass is celebrated by a bishop and marks the student’s transition into a mature role in the Catholic Church. Every student, regardless of her faith tradition, has a special role in the celebration.
